With all the odds placed against him, Dwone Perkins has managed to lie out
a path of success for himself. Born and raised in the inner city, on the
south side of Chicago, Dwone struggled not to succumb to his discouraging
surroundings. A young man facing the cruelties of the world without his
father can be a challenge but with the support of his mother and other
prominent family members, Dwone turned that misfortune into motivation. At
a very young age, Dwone placed a pencil to a pad and began to write.
Over the years, Dwone has discovered many different talents and it has led
him to gain experience in several different professional fields. However,
Dwone has continued to write. His writing has enabled him to create over
200 hit records and 8 solo albums. While he has a passion for music, he
hasn’t really had the time to put forth the effort into chasing his dream
but with the founding of his own record label Tha Rush Records in 2000 and
with many other artists following the movement, he is now ready to
establish himself as a solo artist.
With ten years of experience in recording, mixing and mastering music,
Dwone is focused. Known in his neighborhood and by his peers as the up and
coming artist “Tha Rush,” Dwone has performed at numerous talent shows,
various open mics including “Mixtape Mondayz,” and his presence is
demanded at all family events. “Tha Rush” has an enormous stage
presence and his lyrics are captivating.
To compliment music his ability, Dwone is a phenomenal leader with
immaculate organizational skills. He has experience in studio setup as well
as engineering and is skilled with computers. All this in addition to his
self-motivation, will aid him as he strives to succeed in the music
industry.
Dwone’s focal point is his family and while he works to make a better
life for them, he spreads positive messages through his music. While all
the while, keeping God first!
