Biography
Beat maker-songwriter, engineer, graphic designer, artist developer Angelo
(Dox) Robinson entertains audiences wherever he travels with music that
portrays the joys and sorrows, ups and downs, failures and triumphs of
every day movements by a soul trapped in the “hood”, dying to display
the talent of a legend in the making.
With a wide variety of mood music to cater to the needs of expressionist
and the brains to power a fortune 500 company, Dox composes his dance
energetic beats and high velocity lyrics with Fruity Loops and Adobe
Audition. His shows incorporate original and fully charged material with
the works of other contemporary songwriters to form a musical portrait of
the history of a new dance genre called Trance Pop Hop.
Dox’s crazed style of beats and rhymes have been compared to the
electronic sounds of Trance meets the “Boom Bap” era. Reviewers have
also described him as an exceptional artist who speaks from the heart;
Raleigh NC’s 9th Wonder had this to say: "He puts his best foot forward
every time... and it’s who he is every time it comes out."
A graduate of Goldsboro High School and proud veteran to the United States
Army, Angelo spends his first few years out of school as a Medical
Specialist for the United States Army as an E3 ranked soldier. After the
military Angelo began seriously pursuing music, writing and performing with
a variety of groups before beginning his career as a soloist.
For Angelo, a good song that touches the lives of all who feels like him is
enough for him to know he is not alone and neither are his listeners. A
brother of 4 and a father of 4, Angelo does know what it means to be
counted on and looked to for advice. His music has an indescribable quality
about it, with very precise choices of words and a very out of this world
beat making technique. He combines traditional “Boom Bap” beat patterns
with trance like melodies, to paint pictures using lyrics from the soul and
everyday moods, high energy and action pact stories - pictures a community
of “Clubbers” and “Hip Hoppers” coming together to create a new
movement of music to dance your cares away.
As a close friend to 5 platinum album producer 9th Wonder, Angelo studied
the correct way to structure songs and know the meaning of an artist.
Opening for various industry acts around the globe, Angelo has truly
harnessed a sound that could cause uproar in the world of entertainment. As
