Bio
In the South, if you heard somebody say they were some kin to someone else,
it would mean they were in some way related to each other. But this year
when you hear someone state they're Sum Kin, it will mean they are part of
raps newest trio. Sum Kin- consisting of blood relatives Jr. June, Wippa
Snappa, and Que- are not newcomers to the rap scene. Founded in 1991, under
the name of Total Destruction, Sum Kin performed with other family members
at underground talent shows and local schools in their hometown of
Savannah, GA. Fast forwarding to 2008, Sum Kin is preparing to release
their debut album on Fam Biz Entertainment. Their first single, Count It
Down, is burning up the streets of the South. This single has attracted
attention leading to performances at some of the biggest events in Georgia,
such as the nationally televised title boxing match between Al Seeger and
Cesar Figueroa in Savannah, GA, as well as granting Sum Kin their place in
history as the opening act for some of the biggest names in hip-hop, such
as Ludacris, T.I., and Usher at the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash 10 concert in
Atlanta Ga.. "Count It Down" is a Dirty South's club banger at its finest,
but their album is not your stereotypical southern underground release. You
will be sure to hear a variety of messages in each track with every new
release. Keep your ears and eyes to the streets for new releases on Sum Kin
because when you listen and watch this new illustrious rap trio, you'll
feel like you're part of the family.
