Louisiana; home of Bourbon street’s Mardi Gras and Creole food, is also
known for its high murder rate and Voodoo but through it’s good and bad
arises up and coming independent recording artist Maurice "Official Reese"
Gilbert.
Reese was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Vacherie, LA with his hard
working mother “Barbara Braxton” and four (4) siblings, where he
gathers most of his inspiration from but it was his father “Marshall
Gilbert” who was an eminent neighborhood DJ that gave him his love for
music.
Shortly After Hurricane Katrina devastated Reese’s birthplace in 2005, he
left Louisiana to pursue his career as a rapper, he spent one (1) year
traveling, spending time in Various cities in states such as Texas,
Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and last but not least Tampa,
Florida where he has resided since 2006.
With Louisiana and family in heart and mind it was hard to settle but
finally he found place appropriate enough to give him a new start.
