Bio
Liz Lohnes is a singer/songwriter from Boston. Ever since she was little,
Liz has shown to have a gift for music. Starting out on the violin, Liz got
her start at a local blues jam for kids. This is where she decided to start
singing and she hasn't stopped since. Liz's sweet yet powerful voice has
brought her the opportunity to perform at several major venues including
the Apollo Theatre, Gillette Stadium to sing the National Anthem for the
New England Revolution, and T.D. Banknorth Garden to sing the National
Anthem for the Celtics, just to name a few. Liz is a firm believer in using
her music to help others. In 2008, she held a benefit concert. She was able
to get Season 5 American Idol Contestant Ayla Brown to headline the event
as well as several other local performers. All the money that was raised
was donated to both her high school's music department and to the VH1 Save
the Music Foundation.
Liz wants to help and inspire others through her music, especially girls
and young women. She is a positive role model who, through inspirational
songs hopes to promote positive self image and good self-esteem.
Liz's inspirational music landed her a spot in the myspace music calendar.
Liz and her song, "Reaching for the Stars" are featured in the month of
April. Liz is a supporter of Special Kindness in Packages Inc, which sends
care packages to members of the U.S. military. She has inspired many
soldiers with her rendition of the National Anthem that was sent in a video
in some of the packages. This charity is also featured on Liz's page in the
calendar.
Liz has written some great songs and has been having airplay on several
radio stations.
