Lovette Brown ,( LaDuana Lovette Brown) was born July 3rd in Chicago,
Illinois. Her parents Brenda Brown and Bernard Brown says she started
singing at age the young age of 2. One of her first songs she sang aroung
the house was “Sweet Thing” by Chaka Khan. As a teenager Lovette
majored in music and played classical flute, she was first chair. From
that, she had the opportunity to play her flute live on the radio.
After graduating from Simeon Vocational High School Lovette sang in night
clubs and amateur night shows. Some say her voice is like “silk”,
“soulful” that you would never guess someone of her height could have
such a powerful voice! Ranging from Anita Baker to Patti LaBelle notes she
can hit the unthinkable.
In 2000 Lovette moved to California to pursue her music dream. Lovette has
performed for The Bay Area's Board of Supervisors, Mr. Nate Miley's Soul
fest, for V. Sattui’s Winery, in Napa, Ca. She has performed in several
Juneteenth Festivals, Cultural Festivals, and State Fairs. She has also
performed in local night clubs ie: Arsimona’s Lounge, Air Lounge, Sports
Page, and a permanent weekly gig at the Silk Road. Lovette also had been
hired to do weddings, parties, and local cruises.
Some of Lovette's influences are Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott,
Ledisi, Prince, and Patrice Rushen just to name a few. Music she sings is
