Darious Purnell AKA Young Gott
A Delaware resident and native;born March 6,1982 Darious Purnell was born
into a troubling neighborhood on the "Eastside".A side of town known for
robberies,guns,hard times drug users and sellers.Young Gott born into a
family of four,2 older brothers (Lloyd Price,Antwan Price,and a younger
sister Grace Purnell.Raised by my mother Shirley Price and father Howard
Purnell.Sadly at the age of 10 Young Gott's parents decided to
seperate,feeling the effects of the seperation Young Gott went through the
pain endourd by a fatherless son.Young Gott noticed a change in the
household and the struggles of a single parent going through hardships.As a
young man,Young Gott had to learn to embrass those same pains and struggles
throughout middle school.In that time Young Gott found a love,Music!!Young
Gott would hear songs, lyrics and beats off the radio and began writting
his own down on paper.Though only as a preteen Young Gott fell head over
heels,passionite love for music.When he reached High school he had hundreds
of poems and lyrics written down.Young Gott a Hodgson High school alumni
put his passion aside to make room for new hobbies
woman,basketball,wrestling and more woman.Young Gott decided to follow in
the steps of his oldest brother Lloyd Price (father figure) after he
graduated.They both traveled to various states such as
Tuscan,AZ,Faettville,NC,Owensboro,KY,and Americus GA.While living in
Georgia his passion was in his subconscience in every hard hitting beat.In
the "Dirty South" Young Gott heard a dirty south beat that just put a
burning desire in his soul for music.Young Gott once again found himself in
an emotional lyric writting fest. The lyrics flowed through his pen like
water out of a faucet. In 2007 Young Gott returned to the First State his
hometown. Back home with a new attitude,old emotions returned to the same
struggles and Young Gott got a quick glimps of those childhood
struggles,which mad him fall deeper in love with his passion Music!!Young
Gott accepted his talent and decided to use music as a life enhancer. A
Better life in other words!! In his search Young Gott ran into a veteran
producer by the name of Samuel "The Wiz Cobbs". Cobbs was best known for
performing with Jackel Bear and also doing back up vocals. Cobbs loved
Young Gott's vocals immediately after hearing them.Cobb then suggested that
Young Gott put a few songs on wax.In 2010 Young Gott along with producer
Samuel "The Wiz" Cobbs released an album/combolation tittled "Next
Generation Music" that made it to the Grammy's.Not bad for a First State go
around,not to mention the first Artist from the First State to be nominated
for a grammy.The magic in Young Gott's music was born.Now that the
illustrious career is beginning,this is the making of real honest life
stories and vivid pictures painted.Young Gott is a refresher to Hip Hop and
a reminder of where Hip Hop is going.What started out as pain on
paper,lyrics thru beats on the radio has now been bloomed into what he
calls "Life Music".
It's been 3 years in the making,but Ladies and Gents it's defintly "Worth
The Wait" America here he is Young Gott AKA Mr.302....................
