Bio
In the competitive rap scene, there are haves and have-nots. Out of Little
Rock, T.Jay was determined to become an influential player. Already a
seasoned artist, he created On The Map Entertainment in 2004 in hopes of
luring like-minded talent in a state not known for rap music. Within
months, he and his acts had appeared on local radio stations. In fact, he
was voted “Hottest in the Rock” in September 2005. Still, the
transition between being an 18 year old artist and the present was being
made- his release of Hustler’s Ambition in 2007 was largely a diary of
personal thoughts. It was this groundwork that has set him up for today. It
emphasized the power of being positive in music and not superficial. T.Jay
found little value in the preaching of doing bad deeds in his own life, and
through his music wanted to build people up. The area began to take
notice.
What truly set him apart was his steadfastness in remaining positive in a
culture that discouraged it.
