Bio:
Local critics and peers both agree, Brent Robertson aka SHOW is rising to
the top. Having distinguished himself as one of El Paso’s premier rap
music artists, Show perfected the balance between the hustle of everyday
life and the transition into the music industry.
Born in Houston, Texas, Show made the trek to El Paso by way of a football
at the Univeristy of Texas-EL Paso. Faced with the reality that football
was not his first love, he followed his heart and began to take that step
into world of entertainment. With only three years under his belt and only
a small amount of criticism from other local rappers, he quickly solidified
his standing within the El Paso music scene. Called upon to perform show
after show, El Pasoans were ready for the much anticipated release of his
first full length CD. His singles that have garnered the most attention are
“Mr. Hollywood”, "Aint Nothing Changed" and "She Boppin".
2007-'08 had proven be a great time for Show. He was the opening act for
the Cinco de Mayo tour (El Paso—Brownsville—Dallas –Corpus Christi);
opening for Jibbs, Lil Rob, Chingo Blingo, Pitbull, Trae, Tum Tum and Paula
Deanda. In October 2007 he opened for the Shop Boyz, Kidd Frost and
Treniere at the El Paso Coliseum. He was afforded the opportunity to record
a remix for Brooke Hogan and Paul Wall’s “About Us” and “When It
Was Me” by Paula Deanda.
When asked why he thinks the industry needs him and who influences him,
Show’s response was subtle yet true…”I bring that passion that is
currently missing. I bring good music with lyrics that say something
meaningful. LL Cool J is a positive influence for me because like him, I am
not afraid to show my sensitive side.” True to his calling, Show’s fan
base has grown tremendously over the past year.
What many people are surprised to find out about Show is that he is a
connoisseur of traditional English language and has a unique way of
blending that talent with the urban music he loves. His unabashed desire to
bring passion back to the music business has been nothing less than well
received and much anticipated.
Making heads bounce and bodies swerve, Show is destined to become one of
rap’s most respected and revered artists. Show says he wants to create
that music movement that makes heads bounce, bodies swerve and minds
think.
Show is currently recording his first full length album which is eagerly
awaited by many and will feature more unreleased sure to be hits.
Watch out world, here he comes.
“The difference between somebody who reaches their goals in life and the
person who just follows along in life…is going that extra mile—the
distance” --Show
