Bio
It all started in 1997 when SLIM G met his best friend Brian Dwayne Lamb
A.K.A Killah-B in a juvenile program, the two started writing lyrics
together and started a group called "Ghetto Lunatics" the two started
recording songs for their album under a local label called Venom Records.
In between the streets and jail time the album was delayed and SLIM G
started recording a couple of solo songs. Once Killah B came back home
after serving a little time they started finishing up their group album but
sadly in may of 2000 Killah B was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting so
SLIM G had no other choice but to go solo and keep the dream alive. Shortly
after Killah's death things took a turn back at the label. SLIM G dropped
his first album The Untold Story.
SLIM has never forgotten Venom or what the label contributed to his career
today, he states "I really had love for Venom and I still do because
that’s were it all started for me. Some things just were not meant to be
but it was all love". SLIM G is true to the game and his music speaks many
volumes of the past, life’s lessons and today's obstacles that he endures
to become a better man. He writes, produces and manages other artist’s
fresh to the game so they can be educated and learn from what he has
experienced in this music industry. His love and devotion for music comes
straight from the heart because its not only words on a pad, its his life
and the truth about being a black man, the sweat, blood and tears that life
throws his way. SLIM G is not selfish about his work or music, he wishes to
share his message to the world and let others know that this game ain't no
joke and dreams will carry you a long way, just never give up and you will
succeed.
SLIM G has been in the underground scene for 10 years now and has managed
to keep his independent buzz doing shows all across Florida and also has
the credibility of having one of mp3s highest selling albums in 2000 SLIM-G
has about 12 albums under his belt and also is the CEO of ROUGH LIFE
RECORDS. Rumor has it that SLIM G holds record for free styling for 4 1/2
