Belonging to a group called The Harlem Sunshine Girls, which instilled strong work ethics and promoted anti-drug, and pro-education messages, groomed her into the prodigy that she is today. As the lead lyricist, they performed in countless open mic events, school functions and talent showcases such as The Apollo Theater, which they won three consecutive times.
