Bio
Hip-Hop to Rap music, in the street to industry music, no matter who you
listen to, most artist have lived by the mantra ‘got to give the people
what they want’. Finally after almost a decade of snap beats and thug
anthems we now have an artist willing to give what many people in the
industry say they need. With long awaited anticipation I give the world of
Hip-Hop its next unpolished gem...Jafar.
A Georgia native, Jafar was introduced to music during his early
years. “My uncles collected albums and cassette tapes…like the Ojays,
Marvin Gaye, the Isley Brothers…” Listening to artist like these
showed Jafar how music can have a great influence on how people thought of
themselves and their situations. With the mic as his tool his mission is
to bring back, “the true essence of how Hip-Hop music unifies”.
“Beauty and the Beast”, is the first single from the album “Legend
Breed” scheduled to be released early ’09. This song has been getting
positive responses since being debuted at a live performance in summer of
’08. In this throw back to the era of conscious lyrics Jafar gives you a
look at what can happen when a flower is picked too soon. With the
entrancing hook ‘shawty think she grown now’ the song echoes the
concerns of families worldwide. Not since being told that “Brenda’s
Gotta Baby” or “Hey Young World” have lyrics been heard as timeless
and universal as theses.
Making his debut as a solo artist in summer of ’08 Jafar released his
first project “Cut Throat Season”. After enjoying regional success
Jafar became a note worthy name in the southern music scene. He was
featured on a variety of projects with other artist from Georgia to Ohio.
2006 found him in the studio with friend and Killarmy/Wu-Tang Affiliate
Supreme of Wise Guy Entertainment. “This Experience taught me a lot
about recording sessions, working on an album, as well as, how to promote
myself”. Having equally matched skills as a graphic artist, Jafar
designs all promotional material for himself as well as several local
artists, labels, and magazines.
Okay, now what else can I say other than make sure you keep your eyes and
ears open for the hit single “Beauty and the Beast” from the artist
that will breath life back into the heart of Hip-Hop…Jafar.
