Bio

Jon E. Fontane, AKA, Jef Johnson,began producing and recording
music in 1992 at the age of 12.Born and raised Flint, MI,. Still,
early on he felt an overwhelming drive to succeed in one of
the hardest in dustries to break in as a new artist.

J.E.F. joined a group in 1995. The group was
called “The Coalition”. After a few years of recording
at different places and dealing with different producers,
J.E.F. decided it was time he put all his energy and efforts
into making sure his group had a fair chance at their dream.

The Coalition released their first album entitled "
check the illy" in 1999. The album did sell; do to heavy
spins in the Michigan area on radio stations and local cable.
J.E.F. produced, recorded, mixed and mastered the whole
album at Boomin Records where he worked full time as a
engineer and producer.

After J.E.F. felt like he should have gotten paid
and did not get a dollar, he went independent
and came up with the "Worlds Greatest Demo".
This double CD (with 31 songs) has some of the
most innovative music at the time. The album did
well, but the independent money was not enough.

J.E.F. became a solo artist in 2003. Since
becoming a solo artist J.E.F. has recorded
three albums, and two compilations.

J.E.F. has worked and done shows with artist such as,
the Cash Money Millionaires, The LOX, M.C. Breed,
Bootleg, Tigger from (the basement), Night
