Kentucky has always found it difficult to earn a comfortable spot in
hip-hop due to the ignorant and exaggerated stereotype suggesting that the
Bluegrass State is country or “backwards”. Thankfully, there is now an
artist proving to the hip hop world that true lyricism does in fact live in
Kentucky. Hailing from Lexington, Kentucky, David Drummond a.k.a. DeCypha,
has made his mark and earned the respect of many artists and listeners by
incorporating his battle-style lyricism with hard metaphors, punch lines,
and heart felt words. In his lyrics you will find snippets from the good
and bad moments in his life, real moments that have structured him into the
man and artist that he is today. With raw lyrical talent comes respect and
